Resumé/Bio

Rob McDowell is an active member of the Montana Auctioneers Association, and has served in the past as President and as Secretary/Treasurer. As a contract auctioneer he specializes in horse sales, benefits, and calcutta auctions. He also conducts farm and equipment auctions in his area, and has been a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) since 2007.

Rob was raised on a large commercial cattle ranch in southwest Montana. His desire to be an auctioneer was sparked at a very young age while attending the local livestock markets, purebred cattle and horse auctions with his father and grandfather. While in high school he attended Western College of Auctioneering, gained experience auctioneering in various livestock markets in western Montana, and eventually worked as a ringman and backup auctioneer for the largest auction company in the United States selling purebred American Quarter Horses and Arabians.

In October, 2007 Rob attended the NAA’s Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) course in Denver, Colorado and currently holds the designation of Benefit Auctioneer Specialist.

Rob is also an active member of the Montana Pilots Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
