MAA past President JimBo Logan, Logan Auction Service, Inc., out of Clyde Park, MT took first place in the Bid Calling Contest. Robert McDowell, III of Butte, MT placed second in the championship and Matt Troyer of Mission Auctions out of Townsend, MT placed third. The Rookie Division of the Bid Calling contest had 6 contestants competing for Rookie of the Year. Tucker Markovich of North American Auction Company, out of Belgrade MT was the 2012 Rookie bid call champion.

There was a crowd of about 200 at the Red Lodge fairgrounds to watch the auction. For those who didn’t attend the convention, I hope you would make plans to join us next year when we return to the Rock Creek Resort – Red Lodge, Montana.

The Montana Auctioneer Association would like to welcome our two new directors to the MAA Board: Ted Odle of Montana Livestock Auction out of Butte, MT, and Shane Ophus of Ophus Auction Service out of Big Sandy MT. Ed Hinton was re-elected the MAA President for 2012.

The winner of the all-expense paid trip to the NAA Conference July 17-21, 2012 in Spokane, Washington, was awarded to Jamie Stanek out of Victor, MT. Jamie will have the opportunity to compete at the National level this year at the Doubletree Hotel, Spokane, WA.

For those who didn’t attend the convention, I hope you would make plans to join us next year when we return to the Rock Creek Resort – Red Lodge, Montana.

Ed Hinton of Hinton Auctions out of Scobey, Montana took first place in the Bid Calling Contest. Rick Young of Rick Young & Sons from Absarokee, Montana placed second in the championship and Rob McDowell out of Butte, Montana  placed third.

Jake Yoder of Mission Auctions from St. Ignatius, Montana was the 2011 Rookie Bid Call Champion.

The crowd of about 250 at the Livingston fairgrounds was given a chance to participate with the “People’s Choice Award,” going to Jaxson Allen from Lewistown, Montana.

 This year’s Hall of Fame inductee was Rick Stahl out of Opheim, Montana.

 JimBo Logan of Logan Auction Service, Inc.  of Clyde Park,Montana was awarded a plaque for his exceptional service and dedication to Montana Auctioneer Association from 2007-2010.  Thank you for all your hard work and effort the last 4 years.

 The winner of the all expense paid trip to the NAA Conference July 12-17, 2011 in Greensboro, North Carolina was awarded to Jim Cooper with C & L Auctions out of Billings, Montana. Jim will have the opportunity to compete at the national level this year.
